“Not when she’s locked herself up in her room and refuses to talk to anyone.” He said, in a lower tone so perhaps the rest of the team wouldn’t hear. “What did you do her, Ardelean?”
“Not when she’s locked herself up in her room and refuses to talk to anyone.” He said, in a lower tone so perhaps the rest of the team wouldn’t hear. “What did you do her, Ardelean?”
“I didn’t do anything,” Gabriel protested, his expression clearing to reveal looking true bewilderment and a bit of concern. “I swear. The last time I talked to her, I mean… she dumped me.”
Kyros let out a single-note laugh, disbelieving. “What?”
"What do you mean, what? I figured she dumped me because you don't like me." he scowled.
"Is that what she said to you?" His brows furrowed, thoughts spinning. Sparrow had dumped Gabriel? Now that was news. He had never imagined Sparrow to be capable of dumping anyone-- or at least not in a way they'd notice through all the niceties. Besides, how could she have made such a big decision and not told anyone? Maybe it had been a spur-of-the-moment call, a response to some offense.
"No, she didn't say anything to me. She said we couldn't be together any more and that she wanted to be alone, and then she blocked me." he said. "But you were always glaring at us, whenever I hung out with you guys. I noticed."
"That's just my face, moron," Kyros spat back. "You're not special. What happened before that?"
"I told you, I don't fucking know, and I don't know what you want me to tell you. She just left, okay? Didn't give me a reason, did it out of the blue. We went on a date three days ago, for chrissakes!"
"I swear on your life, if I find out you're lying..." Kyros threatened.
Gabe's eyes narrowed. "You'll what?"
