She leaned up to kiss him. "You're eager, that's all!"
"No, she didn't say anything to me. She said we couldn't be together any more and that she wanted to be alone, and then she blocked me." he said. "But you were always glaring at us, whenever I hung out with you guys. I noticed."
"I told you, I don't fucking know, and I don't know what you want me to tell you. She just left, okay? Didn't give me a reason, did it out of the blue. We went on a date three days ago, for chrissakes!"
Gabe's eyes narrowed. "You'll what?"
“Do you want to?” Pari leaned her head back to look up at him. “… I guess we could. We don’t really have anyone to answer to out here.”
He wasn't backing down. Pari's own chest was tight with uncertainty, but she reached up to unlace the first ribbon of her own gown. "Aren't you?"
“But there’s no good reason to push off all that paperwork.” she sighed, pressing her chin to his chest. “And there’s so much damn paperwork.”
She closed her eyes blissfully. “Like what?”
“Bren, she went to find you,” he said. “Don’t tell me you wanted both of them? C’mon, throw me a bone here.”
"Oh, fuck you." Pari rolled her eyes but she smiled as she pushed his face away, moving to sit up in the bed.
