"Thanks," she approached the bed, shuddering in the cold. "Are you gonna wash up?"

"I just did," she said with a little laugh. "I'll be fine. But once you get out, it's cold as shit."

"No thanks, I don't need any reminders of the thing they got rid of this morning." she muttered, gesturing to the door. "I'll stay here. If it's cool."

“Of course, zolotse. I came to see you,” she pecked his cheek. Pari took a rallying breath and stepped into the portal, squinting against the sudden rush of wind.

She wasn’t overly familiar with the mechanics of Saskia’s portal work - she wasn’t usually the one using them. So as much as she tried, there wasn’t really a way to gracefully be spit up from a vacuum.
Pari stumbled into the room, her senses taking a moment to catch up with her body; at least, that’s what it felt like. She found herself staring into a familiar wooden room, the floor tiled with pristine marble, a matching bewildered red gaze looking back at her from across a mahogany desk. Damn it, Saskia.

“Leriph,” they both said, she and the man. But the man continued on, “Where’s Bren?”

Rhea slipped out of the corner she’d been sequestered into and fled to a more open space, beside Leriph.

"Better go get the door," she told him as the haze of the morning light faded, and the cold chill in the air dissipated any lingering comfort.
Although he'd just been teasing earlier, he was right. At the end of the day they'd made themselves a shitty situation that had no other outcome. Suddenly, homesickness struck her in the chest, the pain of it curdling her stomach. She'd give anything just to talk to... just to have someone to talk to about this. But even if she went home, there wasn't anyone waiting for her. And here, Feo... she'd ruined that too, last night. Look at you now, she thought grimly. She'd given him every opening and he still treated her like a primed grenade. But she deserved that.
Pari pursed her lips again, looking down at herself, at her silken dress and bare skin and feeling, for the first time in a long time, shame. Disgust. She'd thrown herself at him like a lovelorn fool despite railing against it for so long. At the end of the day, despite the standards she held herself to, despite her dedication and her principle, she was just as fucked in the head as the rest of them. "I'm going to go get dressed."

She looked at him, then turned her gaze straight ahead and bit the words out before she could swallow them back down, hands curled together in her lap. "I fucked Feofil."

"No, I don't want you to ask me questions at all!"
"Pari," Sparrow took her hands. "Can you tell me something, at least? Do you regret it?"
Pari pulled her hands away and gave Sparrow a mean look. Sparrow was unfazed. "C'mon, just listen to your gut."

It was very hard to be mean to someone who didn't care if you were being mean. Pari scowled at her, then turned the look to her lap.

"Honestly, yeah." Pari admitted, slipping under the covers. "And your bed is warmer."

"He's drunk out of his mind," she retaliated, eyes fixing on his cradled arm. "What happened, did you break something?"
In the second she'd taken her gaze off of her patient, though, he sprung up - surprisingly sprightly for someone who was both inebriated and had just been knocked to the ground - and lowered his head like a bull, running at Leriph. "Watch out!" Rhea cried.
