The alcohol, however, had severely dulled whatever reflexes Leriph might have had. He took the headbutt in full force, arms grabbing at the guy in a sorry attempt at bracing against it.

His hair was tousled, face partially hidden by his other arm draped across his forehead to block the light. His chest rose and fell with deep breaths indicative of a restful slumber the likes of which he hadn't had in months.

He murmured a sleepy sound of pleasant surprise at her soft touch, barely coming to as her kiss pulled him out of his dreams.

He watched her leave, sensing a shift in her demeanor. How quickly the fantasy had ended, and what awaited them now as they hurtled towards the cold, hard reality that they'd probably made a grave mistake? He left the room to get the front door, knowing that the blustery chill that burst in from outdoors would usher with it all the problems of the outside world.
