“Better than usual. You were out like a light.” She closed her eyes, pressing her cheek against his skin.
"I haven't slept like that in years," he confessed, rubbing at his eye absently. "We had a big day."
“Yeah, that’s one way to put it.” Pari muttered.
"And a big night," he reminisced with a grin sneaking onto his face.
She managed to shape her budding turmoil with a scoff of amusement. Now would be a good time to redirect them to their normal life; all she had to do was get up and out of bed. But the second she did that, this peacefulness -- this content? It was gone.
Who was she really leading on, here? Feofil? Or herself? "... we hit a lot of firsts yesterday."
"Can we just take today off?" He agreed. He wouldn't mind prolonging the little fantasy bubble they'd created, not to mention he felt it was a reasonable response to yesterday's near-death experience.
